dølge

18—26 MARCH 2022
DANSENS HUS / NYNORSKENS HUS, OSLO, NORWAY

dølge combines dance, sound and scenography in a search for states that lie beyond 'the natural'. The performance draws from folk tradition, romance and theatrical magic to invoke the supersensible, that which is esoteric, or 'hidden'. In conspiracy with the historically charged space of Nynorskens hus (Bøndernes hus), the work listens to hidden resonances and echoes them in movement, sound and staging. The performance is again haunted by ideas and feelings taken from the writing of Ragnhild Jølsen (1875-1908). Through techniques for expanding and distorting the body and methods of enchanting their surroundings, dølge attempts to entice the viewer to move out of their critical modern mindset, to disappear for a moment from the everyday scene.
